"Let us begin again, for up until now we have done nothing."

The Porziuncola Project is an educational website created for the sole purpose of renewing the Franciscan Charism through education in the various aspects of our Franciscan Charism.

All material on this website is free and all educational videos are encouraged to be used for the formation of all members of the Friars Minor, Poor Clare Nuns, the Third Order Regular Friars and Sisters and our brothers and sisters of the Secular Franciscans.

Since Br. Thomas Celano tells us that Saint Francis was a "thourally Catholic man", this website also offers formation material on the basics of the Catholic Faith.

This website should also prove helpful to all who may be discerning their vocation to Consecrated Life and Franciscan/Poor Clare Life.

The Second Vatican Council called for the the renewal of religious life by inviting religious orders to return to the "primitive inspiration of their founders". The task was to return to the foundational principles of their charism and to bring it into contemporary culture. Unfortunately, in an era of confusion, many religious orders, including our Franciscan Orders, embraced a more secular life and abandoned the basic foundations of not only the charism, but the very principles of Consecrated Life.

Among the goals of the Porziuncola Project is the goal of renewing our understanding of the basic principles of Consecrated Life according to the directives of the Second Vatican Council.
