Prayer to Keep the Presence of God
Lord, God Almighty,
You have brought us safely to the beginnings of this day:
Defend us today by Your mighty power,
so that we may not fall into any sin,
and that all our works may so proceed
and all our thoughts and actions be so directed
as to be always just in Your sight.

Prayer for Purity of Body and Mind
Lord, set aflame my heart and my entire being
with the fire of the Holy Spirit,
that I may serve You with chaste body and pure mind.

Lord Jesus Christ, Shepherd of Souls,
Who called the apostles to be fishers of men,
raise up new apostles in Your Church.
Teach them that to serve You is to reign;
to possess You is to possess all things.
Kindle in the hearts of our young people
the fire of zeal for souls.
Make them eager to spread Your kingdom upon earth,
Grant them courage to follow you,
Who are the Way, the Truth and the Life;
who live and reign for ever and ever.

Acceptance of Death
O'Lord my God, from this moment on
I accept with a good will,
as something coming from Your hand,
whatever kind of death You want to send me,
with all the anguish, pain and sorrow.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
I give you my heart and my soul.

Prayer for the Sick
O'God Who willed that our infirmities
be borne by Your Only Begotten Son
to show the value of human suffering,
listen in kindness to our prayers
for our brothers and sisters who are sick;
grant that all who are oppressed by pain,
distress or other afflictions
may know that they are chosen
among those proclaimed blessed
and are united to Christ
in His suffering for the salvation of the world.

In Time of War or Civil Disturbance
O'God, merciful and strong,
Who crush wars and cast down the proud,
be pleased to banish violence swiftly from our midst
and to wipe away all tears,
so that we may all truly deserve to be called Your children.

O'God, Who have revealed
that the peacemakers are to be called Your children,
grant, we pray,

O'God, eternal shepherd of the faithful,
